Internet Marketing Made Easy for the Beginner

Internet Marketing Made Easy for the Beginner

By: Christopher Enders

There are so many internet marketing possibilities for promoting an online business, or even a traditional business. The ability to engage in internet marketinghas truly opened the door for women in business and has made working from home a lot easier than it used to be.

Internet marketingcan be much less expensive than traditional marketing and it can reach a huge, precisely targeted audience. Because there are no geographic barriers in internet marketing, it is truly possible to do business worldwide and to sell anything from anywhere, even from the comfort of your own home. Following is a simple explanation of some of the most common internet marketing options that you can use to promote your business.

Article Distribution

Distributing professional articles with a resource box that directs readers to your websiteis a very valuable and effective method of internet marketing. The articles can be given away with permission to reprint at-will under the terms that the article contentand resource box cannot be changed. Many website operators will post these articles on their websiteswhich will direct visitors to your website as well as enhancing your internet marketing link campaigns.

Directory Listings

Directory listings are a form of internet marketing that can be very useful. Directories are a lot like search engines, only listings in the directories are managed and ranked by people rather than by automated, electronic means. Many directories accept directory listings free of charge, so they can be an inexpensive and effective form of internet marketing.

Email Marketing

Email marketingis a viable internet marketing technique that is very similar to direct mail. Generally, it is best for internet marketing messages sent via email to be sent to opt-in or subscriber lists. However, third party lists can be purchased for the purpose of email marketing.

If using third-party lists, check into how the emailaddresses were collected and make sure that they are truly targeted lists with content gathered from individual who opted to receive information relevant to what you are sending.

Ezine Advertising

Ezine advertising, as an internet marketing option, is a lot like advertisingin a magazine; only the "magazine" is delivered to subscribers electronically rather than through the mail. Companies that distribute online newsletters often sale advertising in their newsletters as well, and some may even trade out for an advertisement in your newsletter.

Link Campaigns

Building links to your website from other websites that have information relevant to your target market should be a part of your internet marketing plan. Link popularity, the number of links coming in to your website, and link relevancy, the relevance of the website that is linking to you, can improve your website ranking in the search engines as well as directingtargeted traffic to your site.

Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Marketing

Pay-per-click search engine marketing is one of the most successful forms of internet marketing. Basically, pay-per-click search engine advertisingis a process whereby you bid on specific keywordsthat will direct targeted traffic to your website. You are listed in the search engines based upon the amount you bid for the keyword. You are charged the bid price each time a visitor clicks on the search engine listing, through to your website. This is a good internet marketing option because you only pay for successful click-throughs which result in traffic to your website.

Portal Listings

Portals are similar to directories but are generally specific to a topic or industry. Because visitors to portals have interest in the topic, getting listed in a portal that is relevant to your business can be a very effective internet marketing technique for driving targeted, qualified traffic to your website.

Search Engine Marketing

Search engine marketing is a much preferred internet marketing option because the majority of visitors to just about any website come via the use of a search engine. Search engines use what is called spiders or crawlers which are really just software programs that index websites and determine their relevance, based on the search engine's rules, to the information a person using an internet browser is looking for.

There are also meta search engines that draw from the results of other search engines, and specialty search engines that are geared to a particular topic or industry. To get listed in search engines, a website needs to be optimized and submitted to the search engines. Major search engines include Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Alta Vista and others.

Getting Started: Creating a Business Plan for Successful Internet Marketing

Getting Started: Creating a Business Plan for Successful Internet Marketing

By: Tun Keng Boo

You've just had a spark. A great idea came to you. Its a brilliant idea for a profitable online business. Maybe it is an original idea that has not been marketed online before. Maybe you have come up with a new spin on the ordinary. Whatever it is that has influenced you to start your online business, be sure that you have a plan before you begin. This is not the time to "pick it up as you go". These are some basic things that should be included in your business plan.

The business summary should give a brief description of the entire business and is an integral part of the overall business plan. After you have completed the business summary you should begin to list the objectives or the goalsthat you want to accomplish through the business. Next and perhaps most importantly, you should develop your marketingplan. The marketingplan will address all the specifics of the business. When developing the marketing strategy you should consider the following:

The target market. The target market is the customers that you expect to see visiting your site. For example will your product be more appealing to college students or those who are in retirement?

Consider the competition for your product when determining the marketing strategy. Choose a product that will be seen as unique and useful. Visit sites that are offering the same or similar products. Find out the cost, and how they are marketing their product. Finds out the pros and cons of their business and try to improve your product based on their flaws.

Research the various methods for advertisingonline. You should become educated about search engines and how they work since each one is different. Also be sure that you know how to submit your site to search engines. You should be prepared to spend a small amount of money on advertising, but the profits that you will gain from the advertisements will prove to be money well spent.

Think about pricing. Again, look at the competition and see what similar products are selling for. Pricing can play a big role in the success of your product since selling a product well below the average price may lead customer to think that there is a problem with the product or that it is not of the best quality. However, pricing items too high could also detour customers.

Determine the shipping method. Be sure that you know how products will be shipped so that you can have shipping details clearly posted on your site. If you are shipping things of great value, you should consider providing shipping insurance. Also think about shipping outside the country that you live in.

Think about the different methods of payment that you will accept. If your business does not accept credit cards, you should be ready to give up half if not more of your sales. If you decide to accept credit cards will you use a merchant account or will you use a third party credit card processing center? Both will help you get started and the third party processing center will handle all of the business so you don't have to. You should decide which you will use and also if you will accept checks or money orders. It is essential to have a secure server when taking credit cards.

Developing a business plan and summary, identifying the target market, researching and developing a marketing strategy are all key points to a successful internet business. These few things will help your online businessto become a great success and also provide you with peace of mind knowing that you have thoroughly thought about and planned for the opening of your online business.

The Basics of Internet Marketing Promotion

The Basics of Internet Marketing Promotion

By: Scott Oliver

Thousands of business and web enthusiasts are taking the big risk and joining the exciting world of internet marketing. While seemingly overwhelming at first, internet marketing and promotion can actually be classified into three simple categories: market research, search engines, and e-zine advertising. Those interested in the internet marketing field should first familiarize themselves with the very basics of what makes this fast growing business venture tick.

Determining how much money to invest in your overall internet marketing campaign, and deciding the people and places which to target the main product, are defined as market research. This research is the most basic section of the internet marketing focus. Investing the correct sum of money to the right groups is essential in market research, and internet marketing in general. Proper research will eventually conclude the outcome of your entire business campaign.

Search engines have been a popular form of advertising, both past and present, in the internet marketing community. Search engines are divided into two sections: search engines and directories, and pay per click engines. While the most favored and effective form of internet marketing promotion, this category is also the most expensive. Excellent search engine marketing and placement can quite time consuming as well, and it is best if submission is left to an experienced professional.

Another extremely effective, yet inexpensive form of internet marketing promotion is e-zine advertising. Using the information gathered from your market research, you should be well aware of what your target audience desires. Find out what kinds of online publication or newsletters your internet marketing targets are interested in, and purchase advertising from these sources. Ads generally are available in three basic types: solo ads, top-line ads, and classified ads. Solo ads are the best ads because they are sent to the entire publication list. These ads are also beneficial for internet marketing promotion because they contain only your ad. However, solo ads are the most expensive. While classified ads may be a low-cost alternative, they will not be much help in your plight for internet marketing success. These tiny ads are placed at the end of the newsletter, and are usually overlooked by the majority of readers.

3 Super-tips to Build, Promote and Profit More from your Website

3 Super-tips to Build, Promote and Profit More from your Website!

By: Steve Nash

Are you happy with your website?

Does it 'perform' as well as you'd like?
(Does your business even have one?)

I'm a professional web designer and I always try to influence the design of a client site with the following three so-called super-tips, or tactics. If I apply these tips to a new (or existing) site, then the site will 'deliver' much more to the client.

So here are three super-tips, to help anyone get the most from their website:

(1) Make sure your website has a Most Wanted Response
(2) Promote your website using these six strategies
(3) Build trust in you and your website

Let's look at those tips in detail.

1. Make Sure Your Website Has A Most Wanted Response

"What do you mean by most wanted response?"

Well, do you know what the main purpose of your website is?

- Does your site sell goods? Then which items do you most want to sell?
- Does your site offer content, supported by affiliate programs? Which affiliate programs do you most want to promote?
- Does your site simply offer a newsletter or ezine? Then do you make it easy for people to subscribe, from any page on your website?

What is the 'point' of your website?

Dr Ken Evoy introduced the concept of Most Wanted Response (MWR) in his ebookcalled: Make Your Site Sell. In his words, "MWR is what you most want your visitor to do after reviewing your content. It should always:

* Be reasonable
* Be measurable
* Be a good fit
* Qualify your visitor"

So there you go. Make sure your site has a most wanted response.

2. Promote Your Website Using These Six Strategies...

I think you should employ some (or all) of the following six strategies if you want to successfully promote your website:

2.1: Submit to search engines and directories2.2: Bid at pay per click search engines2.3: Spread word of mouth2.4: Publish a newsletter2.5: Know your visitor2.6: Continue to learn more...!

I'll explain a little bit more about a few of the strategies below.

2.1: Submit to search engines and directories

As you may know, you do not need to submit your site to 10,000 search engines. Simply make sure you get your site listed on major search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo!. The link below contains 'add your site' links to major search engines like Google.

2.2: Bid at pay per click search engines

You must have heard about pay-per-click search engines like Yahoo! Search Marketing, Google AdWords, and Miva.

Pay per click search engines can deliver guaranteed traffic to your site at pennies per click. The important thing to remember is to bid low, if possible, on many keywords, and to track and test what you're doing at all times. Otherwise, you could waste a lot of money.

2.6: CONTINUE to learn more...!

No groaning, please - it's vital that you keep on learning about new ways to promote your website. Quite simply, you must always continue to learn.

3. Build Trust In You And Your Website

So you want to sell online?

Well it isn't that easy, I'm afraid.

One of the first things you must do online is to get people to trust you and your online business. And there are a variety of methods of doing this. I'll cover one method here:

- Offer invaluable (and relevant) information, free, via repeat contact if at all possible.

Or in other words, offer a free ebook, emailcourse or article (a bit like the one you're reading right now ;-) ).

I've talked enough.

Hopefully, you can use the three super-tips in this article to boost the performance of your site. Or I may have given you some extra ideas for your next (or first) site.

The Newbie World of Affiliate Programs

The Newbie World of Affiliate Programs

By: Paula Lewis

An affiliate programis a relationship with an on-line merchant where the affiliate earns a commission for referring potential customers to the merchant’s site, which subsequently results in a sale.

Over recent years the number of Affiliate marketingprograms has increased dramatically. This is due to several reasons. Firstly an increase in the number of people seeking a work-from-home, low start-up cost business. Secondly the attraction to the merchants of having an army of salespeople selling their products has meant that more and more merchants are offering such schemes. Thirdly the increase is partly due to the ease with which it is now possible for most people to have a web presence. Some affiliate marketingschemes even provide completed web pages that only require simple personalization and the site can be up and running almost immediately. Sadly, another factor having its influence is the false impression created by some marketers that the Internet provides the means to get rich quickly and easily with minimum of effort. Some skilled affiliate marketers earn thousands of dollars a month. Some of the reasons why you should consider such a scheme are

No experience required
No stock to purchase
Low set-up cost
No premises to rent or buy
Can be operated from home
No sales experience needed
No goods to ship
Potentially good income
Addressing a world marketplace
Operates 24x7

So what factors do you need to take into account if you are just starting out as a newbie affiliate?

What commission does the affiliate scheme pay?

Commission rates vary considerably depending upon the type of product chosen. These can range from, say, 5% on a range of garden products to 50% and over on ranges of ebooks. Initially you should consider the high paying rates usually to be found on booksand software.

How frequently are the commissions paid?

The frequency of commission payment varies from company to company. Determine whether your selected affiliate schemes pay weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly. Some companies require a minimum accumulated amount of commission before making a payment.

What form of tracking cookies does the company operate?

Tracking cookies, which have a set like, are used by the marketing company so that they can trace a customer back to you as an affiliate. Often purchases are not impulse buys, consequently the longer the life of the cookie, the greater chance you have of earning commission. The life of a cookie can range from several days to several years.

Does the affiliate scheme cater for second purchases and beyond?

Some schemes pay commission only on the product that you are promoting. Better schemes credit you with commission on any future products that the customer you introduced subsequently makes. If you can, therefore, opt for this latter group, and check that this applies if the customer, in future goes directly to the merchants site.

Does the merchant supply attractive promotional material?

What marketing materials are available on the merchant’s site? As nearly all affiliate programs are free to join you can easily gain access to the resource pages of your intended merchants. Examine the quality of the material. Do they provide free gifts for you to offer? Do they offer any means of branding ebooksso that you can stamp you affiliate identity on them?

Do they respond to emails?

A future relationship between you as an affiliate, your customer and a merchant of your choice, can be partly dependant upon the ease with which you, can communicate. Send the merchant an email with a question about their affiliate scheme and look at how you are treated. Discount the affiliate if there is a delayed reply, or worse still, no reply at all.

How popular is the merchant’s website?

Alexa at www.alexa.com carries out a continuous process of site ranking. And will tell you how your merchant’s site ranks in popularity against all of the other sites on the web. Ranking somewhere between 100,000 and 500,000 might be considered ideal. A word of caution here, however. If the ranking is below 100,000 there may already be too many affiliates associated with that merchant. If the ranking is greater than 500,000 it could just be that you have come across a new product where you have chance to make money as one of the first affiliates. Always examine the product in detail, and do a Google search to find any adverse postings. Join the forum at www.warriorforum.com and post a topic asking the members if they have any experience of the merchant. Again a word of caution. Be aware that any glowing report may be coming from an existing affiliate.

Make Money Online With Affiliate Programs

Make Money Online With Affiliate Programs

By: Bing Zou

Broadly speaking, affiliateprogram seems including everything, no matter as hot as pay per click advertisingor as old as pay per impression or pay per sale or lead marketing. So, it is true that all businesses, no matter big or small, are making money online with affiliate programs. The doubt is only how to select suitable affiliate programs to make money.

What is a partner? What is an affiliate? A partner is an associate who works with others toward a common goal. An affiliate is a subsidiary or subordinate organization that is affiliated with another organization. It seems the difference is there but the basic meaning is the same – for sharing benefit.

For home base business, affiliate programs have huge advantages: 1. no hustle and be your own boss; 2. with low or even no cost to set up; 3. no hard task to deal with, such as customer service, shipping or inventory management; 4. high income potential and keep running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no holiday no stop and sales everywhere.

Based on individual company’s policy, there are some rules that do not allow you to sign up all affiliate programs, such as PPCsearch engines or gamblingaffiliate programs may be not compatible. Meanwhile, you may know that every company has its minimum payout and commission rate is different.

In my personal experience, I strongly recommend you sign up third party for your affiliate programs. This will bring you two major advantages: one is save your time; the other is collecting your money together.

There is thousands of individual affiliate programs offered on the internet, many being through third party affiliate programnetworks such as Clickbank, Commission Junction Linkshare and so on. These companies connect a large number of advertisers and publishers together via their own network.

As a publisher, one registration gives you access to tens, even hundreds of advertisers simultaneously. Tracking partner performance is easy: there is only one technical support contact and easier to manage, like only using one user id and one password. The payment is received as your monthly revenue. Another is third party check affiliate programs’ credit and reputation.

Payment thresholds can often be fairly high – a $50 US minimum is common for international publishers. Finally, a payment delay of two months or more from the date of a sale/lead generation can occur often. Not mention some affiliate programs have been known for not fairly treat affiliate to track sales and leads properly as honestly as they could be. Not mention some affiliate programs announce they are not responsible for missing check. Can we ask whether they really send check?

For those big affiliate programs, like Google AdSense, Amazon, you may participate directly with their affiliate programs.

How should you choose an individual affiliate program? My suggestion is not to choose a affiliate program only according to the payment scheme, but rather according to the kind of people who are likely to visit your website, it means relevance. For example, if you are targeting home based business on your site, links to affiliate programs with school recruiting program, text-bookssale and the like may generate less revenue than banners that link to paid survey companies. The most important rule of choosing an affiliate program is to know your target audience.

Another suggestion is not necessary to join every single affiliate program that comes your way. Some gurus suggest that sites that make the most money from affiliate programs are only sign up a small amount of affiliate programs.

Things you should know about Affiliate Marketing

Things you should know about Affiliate Marketing

By: Tomas Anderson

The truth about affiliatemarketing is that 90% of affiliates make under 100$ a month. So I would not count on making a full-time income unless you can really learn and get super good at the following:

1. How to build a good site that converts

2. SEO- you need TONS of traffic since only maybe 1 out of 200 will buy and your commission per sale may only be around $10. SEOhelp your site get top ranking in the search engines so more people can find you. There may be over 1 million pages competing for a search term relating to a product you are trying to sell so you have to be really good. Thousands of people already know how to do this, so you have lots of catch up to do.

3. Then there is lots of trial and error in picking the right merchants and learning the best ways to promote them.

I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. Too many people think affiliatemarketingis a “get rich quick”. They throw up a couple banners and wonder why they never make a single sale.

How long? Depends partly on how much money you need to make. My best guess (trying to be realistic not pessimistic) is that if you were EXTREMLY fast at learning this and EXTRMELY good and EXTREMLY lucky you may hit 2000 in 2 years. That's based on the fact that you are starting at 0 and based on the fact that if you have another full time job you won't be able to devote much time to working on affiliate marketing.

If you decide to try - the biggest challenge will be the 1st few months - checking your stats and seeing 0 or $5 here and $5 there and wondering if all the work was worth it. But once you get some sales rolling, if you stay committed and work hard the commissions should very gradually continue to grow.

One of the biggest deciding factors in affiliate marketing is going to be the trafficthrough your site. Many of the posts so far are great advice, and are part of the affiliate marketing mix, but without having TARGETED visitors to your pages, you will not have pre-qualified visitors that will click on your affiliate programs.

The key to this part of the affiliate mix is knowing your visitors, and then being able to determine what affiliate programs you can offer that will meet their needs. Beyond that is the concept of pre-sell, which is the ability to put your visitors into the required open and receptive mind set required for them to click on your programs.

Without trusting visitors that accept your advice and offerings, and without knowing what interests and needs you can fulfill for these visitors, you will have a rough time at the affiliate marketing game. Yes, you can have tons of traffic coming through your site and offer a wide variety of programs for them to click on, bit it lacks a targeted direction that will not leverage your visitor traffic, and the results will fall short of what you could actually be realizing in affiliate marketing income.

Learning SEO and driving traffic is the key so you will need to get really good at that. Also keep in mind that just putting some banners on a site won't do much for you. Datafeeds is the way to go to generate more income. That takes some tech expertise and a program like WebMerge.

So here is some advice if you want to start affiliate marketing:

1. You must be passionate about the site or sites you are developing. You're going to spend a lot of time with the subject - better like it.

2. If you just don't have any ideas what to design a site around, use Wordtracker.com and Wordspot.com to see what people are searching for online. You'll get an idea of what's popular and then find something in that list that interests you.

3. This isn't about "selling" people something. There are 2 kinds of sites online, "Commerce" sites that have something to sell, and "Content" sites that have information. Content sites need to make money from their labors of love and so make great affiliates. They have developed a site with great content about a niche topic and then they have learned how to get traffic and a following about this topic. Then, AFTER that happens, you can begin to recommend products or place relevant ads that your traffic is interested in from Commerce sites that run affiliate programs and will compensate you for sending them traffic that THEY sell to.

The ability of the Commerce site to "convert" the traffic you send is your #1 priority. If they cannot turn the interested people you send to them into buyers at a reasonable rate (2-5% of more) drop them and find a site that can. Conversion isn't your job, it's theirs. Traffic is YOUR job. Learn search, pay-per-click, developing newsletter lists, link pop, and stickiness.

Good luck - imagine the day when you can earn money while you sleep! It DOES work. Trust me.

Tips for The Affiliate Marketer

Tips for The Affiliate Marketer

By: Art Luff

O.K., You've decided to sell goods and services on the Internet. You've also decided to do so using the multitude of affiliate programs that exist on the World Wide Web. Great! There's plenty of money to be made selling other peoples products and the benefits are many.

Sign up is usually free. (I take exception with programs requiring me to spend my own money to sell their products.)

Upon Sign Up you'll recieve a package to market with. It usually comes with text ads, banner ads, solo ads, all linked to your unique sales page. You then use these tools to drive traffic to your new sales page.

Well that's easy enough, Right? Remarkably it does work. However, Converting your traffic to sales is very, very slim. You'll need thousands and thousands of visitors before you see your first sale.

So, After spending a lot of time, effort, and money getting all of those visitors to your affiliate sales page, you finally make a sale and earn a referral fee or commission. To ad insult to injury, you discover your commission doesn't reach the minimum payout and you can't get paid until it reaches that minimum. So back you go to get another sale and finally get paid. Probably next month.

Don't despair! Affiliate Marketingis a great way to make money, and Lots of It, You just have to know some of the secrets. Here's one. "Don't send visitors directly to your affiliate sales page." There's a four step process that works Quite well.

1. First, Providing something of value is a Must. The most valuable thing you can give away is information. Not just any old information that can be found by doing a 10 minute search, But Unique Information that will help your visitors solve a problem. An informative emailcourse, special report, or ebook that you've written are all great ways to give away free information. What's that? You haven't written anything 'cause you can't write. Well, If that's a problem maybe I can help. Recently, there have been quite a few Private Label Contentsites that provide subscribers with content they can use in every way imaginable. Such as email courses, special reports, or ebooks. Ring any bells? I use http://www.best-resale-deal-ever.com/IGR.html InfoGoRound which is Top of the Line. They even provide an option which allows you to enjoy your subscription at no cost to you.

2. No emailaddress No information. You must capture the name and email address of your prospective sale in order to be able to implement the next step.

3. The information that you are providing must be good and must help people, If not then you will not earn their trust. If you get information that saves you time, money, or effort; then you are probably going to read anything that they send you - as long as the information is still valuable. This is why it is so important that you get that name and email address before you start giving away your information. Now you can stay in touch via an occasional email to your prospect.

4. Finally, Providing value and building trust are the main ingredients of successful marketing. People that have been helped by you, have learned to trust you, are more likely to buy from you. This is especially true if you can convince them that what you are recommending will help them and that it is worth their money. The easiest way to do this is to recommend something that you have actually purchased and use yourself. Just tell them how it helped you and why you think that it was worth what you paid for it!

Online Business And Integrity

Online Business And Integrity

By: Zamri Nanyan

I'm in the process of requesting a refund from a person who sold an ebook to me. It has been a few days now and he doesn't seem to bother attending to my emails and phone.

While this is my first time doing such a thing (asking for a refund online), I should have known it earlier that there are a lot of crooks out there who don't even care about you. As long as they get your money, that's good enough for them.

In my mind, I begin to ask myself.

Where is business ethic now? Where is integrity? Where is professionalism?

Just because you can hide behind a website, it doesn't mean that you can always get away from the bad ethics you leave behind.

It serves as a warning for me and it also serves as an advice. I hope you learned from my bad experience. Just be careful with whom you are dealing with online.

Sometimes, flashy beautiful websitecould actually be a trap to many of us. It doesn't matter if you have been running your online business for a month or for a decade. When it happens, it just happens.

To tell you the truth, I don't mind losing my money to this guy. I just don't understand why he was just plain naive not to see what's in front of him.

I mean, look at the consequences of his bad attitude.

Today, I'll file a complain with his merchant account. Depending on how bad his credit history with the merchant, he could lose his account.

Then, he has to find another merchant account to accept payment online. One merchant account is out. Strike One.

If his attitude carries on, he'll make the same mistake again. Then, Strike Two. And so on until he runs out of other reputable, good online merchants.

What happens to the online community?

Bad news travels like the speed of light.

One person tells bad experience about him will get 10 more to tell the others. Sooner, it will be an army of net citizens talking about him.

His reputation?

Let's just say that it doesn't look that good.

Lesson learned.

Be careful with whom you are dealing with online.

Just like offline business, treat your customers like you see them face to face. Do your business with ethics and integrity.

If you said you'd refund unsatisfied purchases without questions asked, keep your words and don't ask the reasons why they want their money back.

Remember that you could lose that single sale but you could lose even more if you don't treat your business right.

Ask questions, if necessary, before you take out your credit card and hand over your money to a stranger, sometimes whom you don't even know his or her face.

Online business is supposed to be profitable and FUN. It shouldn't be a medium to cheat honest people.

Take this lesson of mine to avoid your own mistake in the future and be good to your business.

How Podcasts Can Help Your Online Business

How Podcasts Can Help Your Online Business

By: Brandon Hong

Podcasts has evolved from being just a hobby for the musicenthusiasts to a serious marketing tool adopted by large multinational corporations.

In fact, it's evolution and transformation is tied closely to that of blogs. The reason is because podcasts is basically just an audio mp3 file which is distributed using Rss feeds.

Think of podcasts as your different radio channels. You can tune in to a classical channel, or rock channel or jazz channel and so on.

Initially the use of podcastwas mainly done by musicenthusiasts and hobbyists who wanted to share music files and audio with others.

Just like blogs when podcast first came onto the scene, podcast was thought of nothing more than some form of fun hobby or activity. It was not long, before companies realized the potential of podcasts in:

- building client relationship,
- branding,
- getting their message out there
- syndicating their content and ultimatelyadvertisingtheir services and products through the use of Rss feeds, which was in-built into blogs

As can be seen, what started as a simple form of fun hobby soon evolved into a powerful marketing weapon. Podcasts is not just for the music enthusiasts anymore.

Companies and businesses understand the power of podcast and how podcast can help their business.

For example:

1. Companies like General Motors and Microsoft, create podcasts that combine information and product news for people who may be interested, such as investors, car, computer buffs or industry analysts.

2. News channels, like CNN, put their headlines and some of the brief news stories into a podcasts format.

3. Radio stations have turned some of their programs into podcasts which they upload daily and make available to people who might enjoy the program but are unable to listen to it when it is initially broadcast over the airwave.

4. Museums, art galleries, and historical sites create broadcasts for users to listen to as they walk through, replacing the human guide that would do tours, and allowing an individual with a personal audio player to go through at their own pace.

5. The director of the sci-fi television show “Battlestar Galactica” creates a regular podcast to tell subscribers about the behind-the-scenes effort to make the show.

Why do you think these large multi-national companies bother to create podcasts? Obviously it helps them with their business and bottomline!

Let's take a look again at how podcast or podcasting can help your online business.

1. Podcast can grow, expand and multiply your business.

Podcast uses Rss feeds and with the explosion in the use of Rss feeds, this means you can submit your Podcast to many podcast directories.

Just like the way a listener tunes in to a particular radio channel, podcast listeners and subscribers will look for a specific niche podcast to subscribe to.

This means you can reach out to new market and new consumer you otherwise would normally not be able to do with traditional forms of business advertisingand promotion.

2. Flexibility and repeat advertising

Podcast, being essentially and audio file, offers consumers choice, convenience and flexibility. With the proliferation of mp3 players, your podcast can be downloaded, stored in an mp3 player and listen to over and over again.

Think about how much it would cost you to repeat an advert? With podcasts, it's totally free.

3. Ready market, to the tune of millions waiting to be tapped.

Recent years have seen the gigantic and exponential growth of audio mp3 device players, especially Apple's iPod. There are millions of loyal iPod totting fans out there. They are constantly searching for audios to download. You can serve these lucrative niche markets by offering niche podcasts.

These are just some of the many examples how podcast and podcasting can help your online business.

With such a big potential and the technology being in it's early unsaturated stage, this is truly the best time to leverage on podcasting technology to grow and multiply your online business.

Marketing a new business without a big budget

Marketing a new business without a big budget

By: Jeremy L. Knauff

Anyone who has started a business without a lot of start-up capital has faced a vicious catch 22. You have to market your company in order to increase sales, but until sales have increased (and you've received payment) you can't afford to market your business. Fortunately, you've got more options than you realize, after all, more than a few other businesses have gotten past this hurdle. So can you.

First of all, don't advertise in the newspapers, on television or the radio because it can take considerable time to see results from these mediums and at this stage of your business, your budget will likely be gone long before you see them.

One powerful way that a business with a small marketing budget can gain exposure is by networking with other people. There are many inexpensive or even free networking organizations in just about every city and all that you need is a handful of business cards and a winning smile.

Another way to increase you business is through co-op marketing with other related but non-competing businesses. If your company sells work-out clothing, you could partner with a gym and a supplement/nutrition store on a direct mail campaign. All three businesses could merge their data bases to reach a larger segment of the market while reducing their costs by roughly one third (or possibly more due to volume discounts on printing).

Establishing yourself as an expert can work wonders for your business because people will come to you first. This can be done by blogging, starting an emailnewsletter or public speaking on your industry. These can all be done with little or no money out of your pocket, just a relatively small investment of your time and some patience.

There is most likely a sizable wealth of leads that you are not tapping into. Think of all of the people you know — some may be potential clients and others may know someone that may be a potential client. You won’t have the chance to find out unless you tell people that you are looking for new business.

The Top 7 Reasons Why You Must Virtualize Your Marketing

The Top 7 Reasons Why You Must Virtualize Your Marketing

By: Michele Hanson-O'Reggio

Let me ask you a simple question. If you could discover a way to reach your target market faster, get more clients, reduce your marketing costs, increase your income and have fun at the same time, would you be interested?

Due to the explosion of the Internet and modern technology over the past few years, marketing for solo-entrepreneurs has moved more and more into the virtual (online) world. Entrepreneurs all over the world have made the Internet their vehicle to deliver and market their services to dominate their market.

Here are the top seven reasons why you must "virtualize" your marketing:

1. To establish credibility and an expert reputation. There are millions of small businesses vying for attention. To stand out in a crowd you need to be "top of the mind" so that when someone has a need they think of you or someone recommends you to them. A great way to do this is to write and distribute your free reprint articles to hundreds of online directories, ezinepublishers and webmasters eager for fresh content. This is an excellent strategy to drive traffic to your website.

2. To maintain visibility by keeping in touch. A starting point is to create an ezine(electronic newsletter). Ezines are an excellent and inexpensive online marketing tool to help you create and nurture client relationships. It gives you a way to continuously stay in touch with your existing and potential customers. If you provide quality information and publish on a regular basis, you will build credibility and trust which will grow your business. An ezinecan also increase your income potential through advertisingand promotion of your services and products.

3. To communicate your marketing message more effectively. When marketing in a virtual world, your messages need to be concise and you need to get the attention of your prospects quickly. For example, learning how to create an effective website you will help you define your image, identityand brand and your uniqueness. Crafting taglines, headlines and even email subject lines will help you hone in on your target market and speak their language.

4. To avoid expensive marketing mistakes. Virtual marketing allows you to test, track and analyze the effectiveness of your efforts. Many marketing ‘gurus’ will tell you that they failed many times and that failing was the key to their success. They learned what didn’t work and what did and then focused on the things that were working. With online marketing, tracking is very easy and you can find out the answers to questions like: Which audiences are interested in and qualified for what you offer? Which ad is creating the most subscribers, referrals, downloads? Which campaigns are losing money and should be dumped? How many visitors viewed my website and where are they from? Which emailsignature is working? What are my ezine readers interested in?

5. To create multiple streams of income. By promoting your business via virtual mediums you can create residual income that can create financial freedom for you. Did you know that there are things your clients want to buy from you, that you aren't selling them yet? Some examples are: virtual speaking (teleclasses, webinars); selling information products on your website(ecourses, ebooks, audio files). You can automate the sale of your information products and earn money while you sleep!

6. Sell more by email and phone. You don’t have to meet with prospects to close the sale anymore. As we have seen in this article, there are several components of virtual marketing. Your clear marketing messages, excellent website, virtual talks, online articles and your ezine pave the way to warming up a prospect. The only thing that will be left to do is to convert a warm prospect to a paying client - and that can be done over the phone!

7. To grow your business exponentially with viral marketing. On the Internet ‘word-of-mouth’ is known as viral marketing. Viral marketing encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message's influence and exposure. Some examples are giving away valuable information like an article, report or e- book for free to attract attention; emailmarketing; placing your message in existing communication between people (online networks); online affiliate and referral programs.

Need another reason? Virtualize your marketing because it’s fun! Do you enjoy marketing? How does the thought of marketing make you feel? Unfortunately, many people don’t enjoy marketing and get overwhelmed by it. They don’t get the results they hope for and therefore find it hard to do. Without bringing a spirit of "play" to your marketing efforts, marketing will seem difficult. Having a spirit of "play" means that you approach marketing as an adventure, a great opportunity to discover and learn, you feel challenged by the risk and just being in the moment of it all.

A few things could prevent you from having this spirit. You may have preconceived notions about what marketing is or what it should be. Some think marketing is about manipulating people, stretching the truth and overcoming objections to which you may not know how to respond. But in fact, marketing is simple -it’s about sharing value with others and in that process, discovering your uniqueness and the difference you can make in the lives of others.

You went into business for it to be profitable right? And, as a small business entrepreneur everything seems to demand your attention: administration, marketing, bookkeeping, customer relations - it never ends! It just makes good business sense to market more effectively and have fun at the same time. Get started with Virtual Marketing today!

The Do's and Dont's of Network Marketing

The Do's and Dont's of Network Marketing

By: Jim Mack

Why did you become a network marketer? Most people immediately respond, “for the money!” However, this is not the real reason.

No one subjects them to the hard work of building a business just for little pieces of paper with the faces of dead presidents. The truth is you work in order to obtain what those little pieces of paper can bring you.

The first thing you need to do is to find the reason WHY you are a network marketer. Is it the freedom to choose whatever you want to do whenever you want to do it? Maybe you are looking for a different lifestyle. If there is one thing that is critical to your network marketing success, this is it. If you don’t have a reason, there is no motivation to succeed.

A network marketingbusiness is a teaching and coaching business. If you don’t like interaction with other people, a network marketing business probably is not for you. There’s a concept that most network marketers just can’t seem to get a handle on. You do not sponsor “reps,” you sponsor “people!”

If you have to find a reason why you are building your business, then doesn’t it stand to reason that other people will have to do the same thing? If that’s the case, then why is it that network marketers continually focus on how much money your prospect can earn?

There’s no way you are going to convince “Joe Sixpack,” to get out of his Lazyboy recliner unless you find out what his motivation is. Most network marketers literally pound in the amount of money Joe can earn. They bombard him with message after message about how “Successful Sam” has just purchased his 10th Porsche, refurnished his 25,000 square foot cottage and promise Joe that he can do the same!

Just how realistic is this approach? Joe isn’t stupid. He works long, hard hours at his job in order to provide for his family and truly believes that the best thing he can hope for is saving enough money by summer to pay for a camping trip. Then here you come, promising Joe that he can have everything that Sam has and he can have it if he will just sign that piece of paper making you his sponsor!

You will probably sponsor a few people that way, but if you are in business for the long haul you need to change your approach and do it fast.

The proper approach is so simple, but in your rush to sponsor another “rep” instead of helping another person, all too often you talk yourself into and straight out of sponsoring the Joes of the world.

God gave you two ears and one mouth and he did it for a reason. We are supposed to “listen” twice as much as we “speak.”

Instead of pouncing on Joe with the latest and greatest network marketingprogram of all time, find out what Joe wants and needs. Ask him questions, lots of questions. In fact, in your first meeting with Joe, don’t even mention your business! Yes, that’s what I said. Don’t even bring it up. Remove yourself from the super duper network marketing persona and spend time making a new friend.

Follow these recommendations and you are set to grow your business exponentially.

Britain’s Next Top Advertising Model

Britain’s Next Top Advertising Model

By: Julian Hall

In this (light hearted) view of online ad strategies I’d like to take a closer look at how close they really are - Reality TVModels vs. Online Advertising Models

Part 1 - They all want to be on top!

You'll find the PPC models casually showing off how easily they can get onto the front page. SEO struts around & quickly reminds them of the tortoise & hare story whilst whispering under their breath that PPC is high maintenance - They eventually stop talking as we go to a commercial break.

Part 2 - New kids on the block

The million dollar home page has everyone’s envy. Banner babe calls her 'new money' and is clearly threatened by here presence in the house. Funnily enough a few watch the million dollars home pages moves & start to copy - by the 100's!. Banners best friend - Pop up is in everyone’s face & refuses to go out without a fight and re-invents herself more than Madonna.

Part 3 - Nobody likes me

All the other models are talking about Link Campaign - 'She goes out with anyone! Guys from bad neighbourhoods - they're not even her type!’ Link Campaign is in the garden crying herself to sleep and dreams about datingguys who share her own interests and speak her language. Link Campaign has a fling with SEO, and makes an appearance on the front page of Google!

Part 4 - Grande Finale: Back to reality

The truth is, there is no grand finale. In the real world of internet marketing and advertising, each method has different ‘personalities’, pros and cons which suit different people with different needs. One thing many experts are beginning to endorse however is focussing on your niche.

The internet started for many as a way to access the wealth of information this blue rock has to offer. Gradually we realised that most of what we need is specific to our own interests. Our likes, dislikes, opinions, where we live, in other words ‘the niche’. Unless you have a gazillion pounds or dollars to throw at the market - focussing on your niche can bring about surprising results. Good luck with yours!

Internet marketing predictions for 2006

Internet marketing predictions for 2006

By: Jeremy L. Knauff

Internet marketing has been making some pretty dramatic changes over the last few years, like the growth and evolution of the search engine optimizationindustry, viral marketing, pay-per-click advertisingand the mainstream adoption of blogging. Despite the recent changes I predict that even greater change is still yet to come, thanks in part to the growth of broadband internet access, advances in hardwareand software technology, and marketers need to reach consumers through multiple mediums.

As people's lives become more busy, fragmented media will result in more opportunities for both advertisers and web site owners. Standard advertising mediums such as television, radio and newspapers have been loosing effectiveness (partially because of new technologies like TiVo and XM Satalite Radio) while online advertisinghas become more effective. As an advertiser, there are more opportunities available than ever before to reach highly targeted prospects with a relatively small investment by advertisingonline. As a web site owner, there are more opportunities to generate additional revenue by providing advertising space on your web sites. As people spend more time online, this trend will continue to grow.

RSS will become a powerful, trackable marketing tool. In it's current form, it is a great tool for reaching out to people who have the technical background to use it but it does have some limitations. Many customizable web portals ( My Yahoo) let users display RSS feeds on their home page, but require users to sign in with cookies. Some email programs can display RSS feeds and several programs have even been specifically designed for displaying RSS feeds. However the user base is still fairly small. With the release of Microsoft's Windows Vista, RSS will become mainstream and be adopted by soccermoms everywhere. Once that happens you can expect to see toolsdeveloped to manage and track the traffic from RSS feeds.

The search engine optimizationindustry is another area that will change considerably. All of the major search engine companies have taken considerable steps to reduce web site owner's (or an SEOfirm's) ability to manipulate the ranking of their web sites. As the algorithms that determine the importance of a particular web page become more comprehensive and better able to filter out spam you will see two things happen. First, the search results will become more relevant. Second, the SEO firms that are using dishonest techniques in an attempt to rank higher will collapse one by one until only honest, ethical firms exist.

Internet Marketing Vs Network Marketing

Internet Marketing Vs Network Marketing?

Which one do you want to venture into?

Internet business? Or, network marketing business?

In my opinion, you have to find out what you really want (money, good contact, getting new knowledge etc.). Then learn and investigate. Yes, you might fail in either one of both - be it in network marketingor internet marketing. But sometimes, you don't really fail but you're actually progressing towards your goals.

Let me give you an analogy. You build a websiteand do lots of traffic generations, and you are spending your hard-earned money for two months now. Results - no sale. No income.

Then you quit, put down your website and look for other avenues of income.

What you didn't know was...

If you keep doing what you've been doing, you will make your first sale on the third month, fourth month and so on. You will be generating income from your internet business. But, this all will never happen if your story was written only until month 2.

You might think that this story is fictitious and yeah, a story to make you feel good but nothing more than that, but what if I said that this actually happened to me? To tell you the truth, it really did happen to me and I hope it can be an inspiration to anyone reading this article too.

I made my first sale only after three months on the internet and by that time, I have spent lots of money powering up the business. But, it all is worth it now - knowing that I've got more than I invested before.

Back to internet marketing vs. network marketing...

My take is... find a way to do both.

I got a chance to read an ebookby Daegan Smith ( www.NetMLMProfit.com ) and I believe it will be a good start to know more about doing network marketing on the internet.

Daegan talks about lead generationfrom the Internet and building an effective website to drive quality prospects to your network marketing program. All of this can be setup once and can passively attract prospects over and over again. For some of you, these are not something new but it works for him and it will definitely work for you too.

If you study carefully, there are many other internet marketers joining or considering to join an internet based network marketing program. I know that they already make lots of money from their internet business, but why are they still looking into network marketing?

Probably it's not money they are looking for.

Probably it's because of the value in the network marketing program itself.

Probably because they are having fun just to be around successful people in another business field.

Whatever it is, you can have both internet and network marketing as your income generator.

In summary, I hope you'll consider internet marketing and network marketing at the same time. Entrepreneurs are always open for new ideas and new business ventures.

Find out what you really want.

Customize Your Marketing Campaign To Crank UP Your Business

Customize Your Marketing Campaign To Crank UP Your Business

By: Chad Mcdonald

What is that old adage? Location, location, location! Where you market your business is very important to the success of your marketing campaign. First of all you need to identify your customer demographic, find where your demographic can be effectively reached, and brilliantly make a memorable appearance into their line of sight. Most likely you already know your demographic and where they can be reached, but how can you effectively leave a memorable appearance? First thing to remember is that your competition is jostling you for their attention, if your competition is already on a billboard, do not put up a billboard beside them, you need to stand out. Look for the newest brightest and most brilliant way to present yourself; you need to catch their eyes.

Advertising is evolving, billboards, flyers, and posters just don’t stand out like they used to, the newest media is now wrestling for prominence on the scene and is beginning to over shadow the competition.

The contentof your campaign can directly decide which venue to populate with your logo and message. If you are in the business of selling fun and excitement, action and adventure, why would you even think of using a static billboard? Fun, excitement, action, and adventure demand the use of dynamicvideo footage in order to properly portray the action. Are you selling cars, ATV’s, action filled vacation packages, and the like? You need to show action scenes of people enjoying and participating in the excitement. Until recently this was only available on expensive venues such as television. Although effective in reaching the large masses, you paid the price to reach everyone, whether they are your potential customers or not. With custom digital signage breaking onto the scene, you now have a venue to show full color video footage on a venue that can be tailor placed to reach your demographic audience for a much more reasonable price. After all why pay to reach those who are not your customers, why not invest more in a campaign that reaches only your potential customers?

Digital signage as a medium is a choice many 21st century businesses are using today. Our North American society has been raised on television; we are tuned in to color moving pictures and have learned to tune out the static billboards, posters, and flyers. Static posters and other “paper ads” are easy to walk by but a full color moving picture captures the eye, and draws people in. What you do with that customer now is up to you. A professionally designed ad will entertain and educate that potential customer with just the right amount of timing so that the audience will learn all that you needed them to learn about you and your product, before they realize that they were watching a commercial.

Digital signage is the 21st century’s shot in the arm for marketingyour company. With the prices dropping on the hardware side, this form of advertising medium is now affordable and effective. Keep one step ahead of your competitors and get board with the latest in technology.

Four Killer Marketing Secrets You Can Use Immediately

Four Killer Marketing Secrets You Can Use Immediately

By: Enigma Valdez

To many businesses, marketingcan seem like a mystery. It is often complicated and confusing to many individuals. There are far too many marketingprofessionals who are hung up on just one or two specific aspects of marketing. These usually have little or no impact on the end result.

If you are looking to improve your marketing results, then you need to follow these quick & easy guidelines.

1. Know your consumer. You just cannot market to a market that you do not know. You have to get to know your market as if it were a person. What motivates that “person” to buy your product? How old is the average person buying from you? What gender are they? Where do they live? What kinds of jobs do they have and what is their income? The more you know about your market, the more you are able to target your message effectively.

2. You need to have the right timing to market effectively. You can have a great marketing message, but your market will not be interested if it does not reach them at the right time. Think about certain times of the year that your product or service can be advertised aggressively. Holidays such as Christmas, Fourth of July, and Easter could be exploited to increase revenue for your business.

3. You have to have the right offer. In direct response marketing, the experts say that only 20% of your results are based on your creativity. Then, 40% is dependant on your offer, and the last 40% is dependant on your list. With this in mind, you have to test your offers. You have to find the right offer that will beat all your other offers, and then turn around and test it again. You need to TEST, TEST, TEST, TEST, and then TEST again. In addition, after it is all done and over with, you need to start all over again, with your testing. In this way, you will be testing and refining your results for the better on a continual basis.

4. It is all about your communication and message. If you know your market well enough, you will be able to use that knowledge to create a message that hits them in the core. Your message will resonate with their hearts. It will address their needs and your service or product will differentiate you from your competitors. Be sure that you stress benefits over features. All too often, advertisers are hung up on the features, and leave prospects wondering what the benefits are. Do not assume that your prospect will already know the benefits. You have to spell them out for the market.

So there you have it. With these simple power-strategies, you will be able to approach your next marketing campaign aggressively. By knowing your market, you will ensure that you reach them at the right time. The right time means that it is the time when they are ready to buy from you. By experimenting with your offers and testing them on a regular basis, you will be able to find the most productive offer.

Viral E-books

Viral E-books

By: Corey Morehouse

Using ebooks are a very important factor in viral marketingbecause they contain key specific information on a readers niche. When a customer searches on google they are looking for targeted information and what better giving them multiple facents of information with the same niche.

There are three reasons why viral e-book marketingwill snowball your advertising efforts...

1. Customers are much more likely to find the information they are looking for in a targeted information driven e-book, thus creating more sales.

2. Visitors may find the book extremely useful and decide to rebrand the e-book and give it to their subscribers. This creates a multilevel commission potential.

3. Search engines will start to pick the book and you will start accumulating a wave of new sales and subscribers.

As you can see this is an excellent way to increase sales, subscribers, and referrals without lifting a finger. Welcome to the power of Viral Marketing.

There are plenty of e-book out there to choose from for your niche. You can make a search on google and look for a rebrandable e-book in your area of expertise.

Taking Your Business International

Taking Your Business International

By: Tim Knox

Q: I’m interested in doing business internationally. I have done some reading on the subject, but there is an awful lot to digest. Have you had any experience in this matter and can you suggest the best way to get started?
-- P. Granger.

A: Great question, Mr. Granger, though not one I’m personally qualified to answer since I have not had direct experience with international sales. So like any good columnist without a clue I can either make up something and hope it sounds semi-intelligent or I can consult someone who really is an expert on international sales and let him answer your question. Since my agreement with The Times prevents me from fabricating anything other than my true age (I’m 29), let’s go with the latter.

I called on Jose Rodriguez, President of RISMED Oncology Systems, a Huntsville company that provides high medical technology to radiotherapy professionals around the globe, to get his input on the subject. Jose is an old friend and client and if anyone can give pointers on doing business internationally, Jose is the man.

Jose believes that the decision to do business beyond your own backyard should be based on your success as a local, domestic business first. “Unless the business is intended to be one that sells to international customers only, one should not jump into international business until they have devoted the time to develop a good local and domestic business first,” Jose recommends.

Here are a few other points Jose recommends that you keep in mind when considering an entry into the international business arena.

Instill Confidence In Your Customer
Regardless of the type of product or service you sell internationally, you must be ready to provide your international customer with an even higher level of service that you offer your domestic customers. To instill confidence in your international customers you might have to offer such things as around the clock telephone support, extended warranties, and other services that help the customer have confidence in doing business with you.

Know The Rules
You must understand all of the rules and regulations that govern international business practices in this country as well as those in your customer’s country. Understanding the rules will allow you to provide service beyond the expectation of the buyer and operate within the boundaries of the law.

Understand The International Shipping Process
If goods are being shipped internationally you must have a thorough understanding of shipping modes and regulations. Any difficulties with shipping will always be viewed by the buyer as the seller’s responsibility, right or wrong. Understanding the entire shipping process and having policies in place will help avoid shipping problems and keep the customer happy.

Work With Experienced Companies
Always look for experienced companies to work with, especially when if comes to shipping, insurance, freight forwarders, etc. Such companies are great allies and will help keep everything in order and will also help in solving problems related to their end of the process.

Signed and Sealed
Never conduct business under verbal orders. Always put everything in writing with the required signatures. Doing international business is different than domestic business. Outside the United States signatures and seals are required to seal the deal. Don’t worry about offending your customer as this is just part of doing business internationally.

Include A Packing List
If shipping goods, always do a packing list and always number the packages (if 5 packages are being sent, label them 1/5 [1 of 5], 2/5, etc.). If anything is lost, they will know which package is missing and you will have sent a packing list detailing what was in every package, making it easy for the customer, the shipper and the insurance company to solve the problem. Also, always insure your goods for at least 110% of their value.

Have A Damage Policy
Always have a note in your paperwork requiring damage or losses to be reported within 24 hours. Damage reports should be made to the customer’s local delivery company as well as to the shipping company on your end.

Signing Off
If you are selling services abroad, always have the required paperwork so that as the work is finished or as deliveries are made, the customer signs off in agreement with what was delivered.

Ensure Payment
Depending on the amount of the sale, always require payment in advance in U.S. currency or payment through a letter of credit to be paid out in U.S. currency. You might also require that the letter of credit be irrevocable and transferable, that it allow for payments of partial shipments, etc. The more flexible the letter of credit, the better, and usually such clauses are yours just for the asking.

There are many other considerations you should investigate before starting your international business, but that’s a great list to get you started.

Thanks for the great advice, Jose. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Here’s to your success!
